The Kinesio Taping® Method is a therapeutic taping technique which alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin increasing interstitial space and allowing for decreased inflammation in affected areas. Based upon research and years of clinical use, The Kinesio® Taping Method specifically applies Kinesio tape based on evaluation and assessment to dictate a specific application. Kinesio® Tex Tape applications can be applied in hundreds of ways and have the ability to reduce pain and inflammation, promote post-surgical healing, optimize performance, prevent injury and promote good circulation and can assist the body’s natural healing process.

An approved Kinesio® Taping course is one that has been evaluated and confirmed to meet the educational criteria established by the Kinesio® Taping Association. These courses provide participants with the most up-to-date instruction, incorporating advanced techniques and protocols specifically designed to strengthen their Kinesio® Taping skills. Every approved course is delivered by a Certified Kinesio® Taping Instructor (CKTI), who has completed all required training and re-certification to ensure accurate and consistent teaching of the Kinesio® Taping Method and its underlying principles.
In contrast, a non-approved course is a course and/or courses that has not met the educational standards, protocols and requirements established by the Kinesio® Taping Association. A non-approved course may be taught by an instructor who is not recognized or trained by the KTA, therefore KTA cannot guarantee the same high standards of teaching.
